What we collect
We collect personal information in three situations.
- When you contact us. The enquiry form asks for your name, business name, email address, phone number and a description of what you need. Only your name, email address and message are required.
- When you become a client. To deliver our services we hold business contact details, billing details, and the technical information needed to administer your systems, such as domain records and account configuration.
- When you visit this website. Our analytics record standard information such as the pages viewed, approximate location, device type and referring site. This is used in aggregate and is not used to identify individuals.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, to provide and support the services you engage us for, to invoice you, and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we do not add enquiry contacts to marketing lists without asking first.
Client data we can access
Delivering IT support and cloud services means we can, in the course of our work, access systems that contain your business information and sometimes your customers’ information. We limit that access to what a job requires, we do not use it for any other purpose, and our staff are bound by confidentiality obligations. We can sign a confidentiality agreement if your business or your profession requires one.
Who we share it with
We use third-party providers to deliver our services, including domain registrars, hosting and infrastructure providers, email delivery services, and Microsoft and Google for their respective cloud products. Information is shared with them only to the extent needed to deliver what you have engaged us for. Some of these providers store data outside Australia.
We may also disclose information where we are required to by law.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses cookies for basic functionality and for analytics that tell us which pages are read and how people arrive. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
How we protect it
We hold information in systems protected by multi-factor authentication and access controls, we limit who within our team can reach what, and we delete information when we no longer need it and are not required to keep it. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply the same standards we recommend to clients.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email support@uscale.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally 30 days.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at support@uscale.com.au and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
